Well its that time of year again when cyclist break out those running shoes an begin running in preparation for cross season. I decided it was high time I get out and start my base running for the cyclocross season. I just have one little thing to say: Running Sucks! I don’t get it. I use to run all the time in high school (besides the occasional BMX biking) and loved it. Always did the mile and 2 mile run. I see tons of people out for their run around during lunch at work. Their in their various pace groups engorged in talk, sweating and have big smiles on their face. I believe this is all fake, its just a ploy by runners to get us none runners running. But I do the same go out there for, oh, 20minutes with a big smile on my face grinning the pain away. I’m just counting down the seconds til its over. Thankfully “God” created the bicycle on the 8th day.

Finally after the agony of running I’m able to get back on the bike. I have a few techniques which are in great need of improving. Lets just say I have my fair share of small bruises across my inner leg. You know from slamming my leg into the seat in an attempt to get back on the bike after the dismount. Of course, there is always the time I never quite get to the seat and I’m riding the rear wheel. Any case, on a positive note my dismounts are pretty good. Timing and unclipping, picking the bike up, jumping the log. No problemo. My remounts however tend to be more like: Hoop, skip, skip, jump, spin, turn, now kick, ouch, clip. Well time to go back out and try this mounting crap again. Maybe I could bunny hop? Yea right!
