T-rav
The higher pressure you can achieve in a tubular along with proper gluing should be enough to prevent the tire from rolling off the rim.

I myself own nothing but tubular tires and love the ride, have them for track and road. This is my first set for cyclocross. Only clinchers are the ones that came stock on the bikes.

Check out park tool's website for a pretty decent tutorial on gluing tubulars. You could also opt for Tufo's Exterme tape, but I believe they only recommend it's use for their tires.

Thanks for the input guys. I am 6'3" 200 lbs. Ive never ridden Tubulars before, I like the high air pressure. I would like to use them for road race.

So does higher pressure in the tire reduce the potential for the tire rolling off the rim?

T-rav -
So far I've had no problems with the wheels. I must say they are of course alot lighter and stronger then the stock wheels which came on my Giant TCX. I've installed a set of Challenge Griffo's and have ridden them in the Crosscrusade here in oregon and must say they are quite nice

Erik -
I hear what your saying on the rim width. So far I've not encountered any problems but then again I'm 180lbs and not running too low of a pressure. I'm very methodical in my gluing and so far with all tubulars I own have not had one roll (Knock on wood). Thanks to my coach who's had 30+ years of gluing experience. But of course with all tubulars in cross I dry and check after each race to ensure there are no problems. Thanks for the insight.

please note that the rim width of the Ea70X is only 19mm!! the reflex is 21mm... it is only 2mm but the reflex will hold the tubular on the rim a lot better!! i know from my own experience! above that, the balance is better when a cross tubular with only 2bars pressure is on a wider rim...

Erikv - Thanks, and don't worry about the cat. Cat's a big push over, you can do anything to that cat and it doesn't care.

Richard - I'll remember that in the future. Right now those points are going toward sleep time.

You are right about the diaper changings. It is a really easy way to score points and earn some riding time.
